The Pike County General Health District works diligently within our community to promote health and prevent disease. The health district affects the lives of almost all of the citizens of Pike County. We strive to prevent epidemics and the spread of infectious disease. We protect the public against environmental hazards. Much needed health care services are available, from immunizations to head lice checks. The Pike County Health District is the local leader for promoting and encouraging healthy behaviors. Your local health district is ready to respond to disasters, bioterrorism and assist communities in the recovery of disasters.
The health district has many roles within the community that are required by Ohio law: Inspection Banner of food service operations, swimming pools, campgrounds, manufactured home parks, and sewage systems. The health district provides education on child development, smoking cessation, arthritis, disease management, pregnancy prevention and abstinence , and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.
